Corporate Singing Workshops and Vocal Health Sessions in Canberra and Sydney

A more human kind of workplace workshop

A lot of workplace workshops are trying very hard not to be boring.

Some of them succeed.
Some of them don’t.

A lot of team-building still feels like something people get through rather than something they actually get anything from. Everyone turns up, everyone does their best, and then everyone goes back to work.

That’s part of why I started offering corporate singing workshops and vocal health sessions in Canberra and Sydney.

Not because I think every workplace needs to burst into song.

But because I do think a lot of people are hungry for something more human. Something that helps them slow down, listen differently, and take part in something shared without it feeling forced or awkward.

Why singing can work surprisingly well at work

When people sing together, they have to pay attention in a different way.

They have to listen.
They have to make space for other voices.
They have to stay present.

That matters in music, but it also matters in workplaces.

A good singing workshop can help people step out of their usual roles for a while. It can soften the room. It can shift the energy. It can give people a different experience of each other than the one they usually have through meetings, deadlines, and email chains.

That’s one of the reasons I think corporate singing workshops in Canberra and Sydney can be genuinely useful. Not because they solve everything, but because they create a different kind of shared experience.

No, people do not need to be singers

This is usually the first concern.

A lot of adults are carrying around some old story about not being able to sing. Often that started years ago. Someone told them to mime. Someone laughed. They got the message that singing belonged to other people.

I see that all the time.

So my workshops are not about performance. No one has to sing alone. No one gets pushed into the spotlight. The point is not to sound polished. The point is to create a space where people can join in, feel at ease, and have a real experience together.

That makes a big difference.

Because once people stop worrying about being judged, they usually get much more out of it.

Why vocal health matters in the workplace

Alongside the singing workshops, I also offer vocal health sessions for workplaces in Canberra and Sydney.

This has become more and more relevant, especially for organisations where staff do a lot of presenting, facilitating, teaching, training, or speaking in front of groups.

Voice is part of the job for a lot of people.

And yet plenty of people are getting through their work with:

  • vocal fatigue

  • throat tension

  • poor breath support

  • reduced vocal stamina

  • lack of confidence when presenting

  • strain from speaking for long periods

That matters.

If someone is using their voice all day, their voice deserves proper support.

Workshops for presenters, facilitators, and professional voice users

I was recently hired to run a one-hour vocal health workshop and a series of one-to-one sessions with a government department where staff do a lot of presentations.

Honestly, that makes perfect sense to me.

We often think of voice work as something only singers need. But presenters, trainers, leaders, teachers, facilitators, and other professional voice users need it too.

A vocal health workshop can help staff with:

  • speaking with more ease

  • reducing strain and fatigue

  • breathing more efficiently

  • improving clarity and projection

  • building vocal confidence

  • using their voice in a healthier, more sustainable way

For some organisations, that practical side is the main reason for booking.

For others, it sits beautifully alongside a group singing workshop.

What these workplace workshops can offer

For some teams, a singing workshop is the right fit.

For others, a vocal health session is more useful.

For some, it is a combination of both.

That is what I like about offering these workshops in a workplace setting. They can be shaped around what people actually need.

That might be:

  • team connection

  • staff wellbeing

  • confidence

  • communication

  • listening

  • vocal health

  • speaking support for presenters

  • a more thoughtful conference or retreat session

There is room for both the practical side and the human side.

Corporate singing workshops in Canberra

I offer corporate singing workshops in Canberra (link  bold text to this page )

https://lisarichardsmusic.com/corporate-singing-workshops-canberra-sydney

for government departments, schools, universities, arts organisations, community groups, and businesses.

Canberra is full of people doing demanding, head-heavy work. Sometimes what is needed is not another conversation about communication, but an experience that helps people slow down, reset, and reconnect with each other in a more direct way.

That is where music can be useful.

Not as a gimmick.
As a reset.

Corporate singing workshops and vocal health sessions in Sydney

I also offer corporate singing workshops and vocal health sessions in Sydney for workplaces, leadership groups, education settings, health and community organisations, creative teams, and private businesses.

Sydney teams are often stretched, busy, and moving fast. A well-run workshop can interrupt that for a moment and give people a different kind of experience. One that feels grounded, practical, and genuinely engaging.

That matters more than people sometimes realise.

Why I do this work

I’m a professional singer, songwriter, recording artist, and voice teacher. I’ve spent decades working with voices in all kinds of ways.

I know the technical side of voice.
I know the emotional side of voice.
And I know how quickly people can shut down if they feel exposed.

So whether I’m leading a group singing workshop or working with presenters on vocal health, the job is the same in one important respect: create a space where people can participate, learn, and use their voice with more ease.

That is the work.

A different option for workplaces in Canberra and Sydney

I offer these workshops for:

  • staff wellbeing days

  • conferences

  • team-building events

  • planning days

  • retreats

  • leadership groups

  • presenter training

  • workplaces with high voice use

If you’re looking for something more thoughtful than the usual team-building option, or you want practical support for staff who speak a lot as part of their work, I’d be glad to hear from you.
