Singing as a Rebellion Against Burnout

Hey friends

If you're feeling a bit done lately, you're not alone.

Burnout isn’t just for overachievers anymore — it’s  the constant background hum that whispers “ do more, be more, have more” mixed with “what is the point?.”

It’s the 24/7 relentless flow of information and deadlines, it’s work,  kids, pets, and partners all demanding a piece of you until… Let's face it, you are literally in pieces and fried like an egg on the floor.

And strange as it may seem…this is exactly when people come looking for singing lessons.

Not to multiply their tiktok followers, but to carve out a space that is all theirs. A space where the feeling of the breath and sound is all there is.

Singing is Medicine, it’s Meditation, it’s mystery

I’m talking about singing to feel human again.
A place to remember you have lungs, and breath is literally ‘life’
A tiny piece of the day where your phone is on silent and you are the most important  person in the room…

That’s why I think of it as rebellion.
In a culture that wants us running on a hamster wheel and being everything to everyone, singing is the opposite.

What Happens in Lessons?

There are no scales carved into stone.
No sounds to be ashamed of.

Some days we ditch the warm-up because you walked in teary, or furious, or flatlined from life — and instead we hum, improvise, or sing a Billie Holiday song way too slowly.

We follow the voice. Your voice.

Yes, we cover technique — pitch, phrasing, resonance, vocal health — but that’s not the only thing going on.

You’re learning to show up and hear yourself without flinching.
And in a world that profits off your self-doubt, that’s huge.

It’s not about perfection. Perfection is the killer of expression.  It’s about connection — with your voice, your body, your day

Who is it for? It’s for you.

A dad who only sings in the car and thinks maybe… maybe he could sing outside of it.

A singer or songwriter who is looking for that elusive ‘more’ in themselves.

The person who has never sung out loud, and wants to try before they’re dead.

The teenager making sense of themselves and their world.

The empty-nester who put their music dreams on hold.

The artist who has lost sight of themselves in the quest for ‘likes’ and ‘follows’

People show up with curiosity, with heartaches. with headaches.  With fear.

They come to learn.
They come to feel.
Sometimes they don’t even know why they booked — just that they needed to.

That’s enough.
